The Last Man

Human rights tale in the ironic-ending style common to comic books of the era. Hopefully the end of the story made some sort of impression on young readers. From Spellbound #20 (March 1954).

  2. EC got all the press for doing issue stories but it is hard to say if they "started" it all. Marvel may have but then again in the late 50s and 60s the common wisdom is that Marvel was good at following the trends in society and other comics

  3. Superb! Reminds me of what I read when I was a kid growing up in the sixties. I loved that stuff. This is what fueled Rod Serling I'll bet.
